Lavaray Original Tiki Drinks

King Cobra's Fang

Sure there are variations, but mine is the best!  1.5 oz of each non-liquor item, 1 shot of each rum and 3 oz of club soda.

Lime Juice, Orange Juice, Passion Fruit Syrup, Club Soda, Meyers Dark rum, 151 Rum, and Jamaican Gold Rum served over crushed ice.  Served in a pilsner glass with a straw and an umbrella.

This is a simple improvement to the classic cobra fang.

BEAN GAME  (aka Tiki Beans)
This tiki girl drink is a opening night original.  It was invented right on the spot.      Vanilla Rum & cranberry juice.  Serve in a thin (8oz) tiki mug filled with ice cubes.. Not an exotic drink by any means.  This is best used to please your guests who are intimidated by alcohol.

DUDE, WHERE'S MY DRINK?
How's mine taste?  SWEET!

Where's my drink? DUDE!

Coconut Rum, Falernum syrup, pineapple juice filler, sour mix, and 151 Rum.  One shot of each, then fill to the top with crushed ice and pineapple juice.

This one is still popular to this day.  I highly recommend you try it.  Simple to make, sweet going down.

DUNE

The spice must flow!

Vanilla Rum, Coconut Rum, Spiced rum, Falernum syrup, Pineapple Juice filler and lime juice.  One shot of each, then fill to the top with crushed ice and pineapple juice.

Another drink I concocted to appease the masses.  Very popular and has a nice spicy bite to it.

INVADER ZIM
You're small Zim.  You're very... small. One shot each of Barenjager, lime juice, and rum served on ice. Inspired by the TV show

When riding in the "Vood Runner", Zim's superior technology is completely decimated by a bee.  This drink will reveal to you the power of the bee.  It is a small drink with goo, bee goo!  The goo commands you!

Don the Beachcomber Zombie
This is what you feel like after two... 1 shot each of:  pineapple juice, fresh lemon, fresh lime, passion fruit syrup, gold rum, white rum and of course Demerara rum.  Add a teaspoon of brown sugar and a dash of angostura bitters.

Note: the Demerara rum is a must as it has that woody flavour.

Recently uncovered by Beachbum Berry, this drink is worth the price of admission.  Finally a real zombie formula that works!

Mojito
  1 teaspoon sugar
2 to 3 fresh mint leaves
Club Soda
2 ounces fresh lemon juice
1/2 fresh lime , peeled
1oz white rum (or 2, whose counting?)
Beat the hell out of the ingredients in the glass with a muddler!

Rum Smoothie
Not really a formula, more like a collection of ingredients.  Use a smoothie blender and add fresh fruit, cream of coconut, and lots of ice. Add to that about 10 oz of dark rum, 5 oz of white run and 5 oz of gold rum. Sometimes if you use too much banana or pineapple, this drink can be slightly bitter.  If so, add a few oz of falernum syrup!

Ultra Super Mai Tai
  My version:

1 oz Jamaican Rum, 1 oz St James Martinique Rum, 1/2 oz Orange Curacao, 1.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice, 1/2 oz Orgeat Syrup and a splash of Sugar Syrup.

It is REALLY hard to get St James Martinique Rum.  But its REALLY worth it!  Trader Vics is great too!

  Trader Vic's version:

2 ounces 17-year-old J. Wray Nephew Jamaican rum
1/2 ounce French Garnier Orgeat
1/2 ounce Holland DeKuyper Orange Curacao
1/4 ounce Rock Candy Syrup
juice from one fresh lime

Pisco Sour

Ok, so its not my drink.  Its still good!
  • 2 oz. Pisco Gran Reserve Brandy
  • 1 oz. Lime Juice
  • ½ oz. Simple Syrup or 1½ teaspoons of superfine sugar
  • ½ teaspoon of egg white

Combine the ingredients in a shaker, and shake vigorously with freshly made ice for about four minutes. Pour into a sour glass. (This essentially looks like a white wine glass with the stem shortened nearly to the base.) Add 2-3 dashes Angostura or Amargo bitters and allow them a moment to seep into the drink proper. Garnish with a lime or a mint sprig.

Mojo Jojo
1/2 oz banana liquor, 1 shot vodka, 1 oz rum, 2 oz cream of coconut.  Fill with pineapple juice and shove an entire banana (whole) in the center.  Best to use a big tiki mug.  Garnish with a dash of cinnamon on the banana.
